Dear Friends,
The good news continues!Debbie is getting stronger every day, and being home together has been wonderful.
Tuesday, we visited her primary care doctor, who could hardly believe everything Debbie has been through. From the accident in Auburn to the 31-hour medical journey home, surgery, and weeks of rehabilitation, it was quite a story to tell. I think it was the longest doctor’s appointment Debbie has ever had!
We continue to be overwhelmed by your prayers, friendship, and the many ways you have offered to help.
One of the most frequent questions has been, “Can we bring you a meal?”
Thanks to the generosity of wonderful friends our refrigerator and freezer are full for now but we would greatly appreciate help in the weeks ahead.
Someone suggested a terrific alternative: DoorDash gift cards. This allows us to order a meal whenever we need one, without anyone having to prepare or deliver food.
For those who have asked, here are three simple ways:
- Send a gift card online.
VisitDoorDash Gift Cards or Amazon, purchase a gift card, and email it to:
[email protected] - Pick up a gift card at a store.
Many grocery stores and other retailers sell DoorDash gift cards. If you find one, you can mail it to:
Jim & Debbie Hogan
P.O. Box 434
Balboa Island, CA 92662 - Use your own DoorDash account.
Simply sign in, select Gift Card, and send an electronic gift card to Debbie at the email address above.
And that’s it!
I must confess that after spending so many years caring for others, Debbie and I are still learning how to graciously receive help ourselves. This isn’t something we’re asking or expecting. It’s simply a practical answer for those who keep asking what they can do.
Most importantly, please know that your prayers, encouragement, and friendship are more than enough. We are deeply grateful.
Thank you for walking alongside us on this unexpected journey.
With grateful hearts,
Jim & Debbie
