From Boardroom to Ministry: My Journey of Transformation

Friends, let me tell you, the path from the boardroom to ministry isn’t always a straight line. In fact, in my case, it was more like a roller coaster ride with twists, turns, and a few unexpected loops!

I remember when I was knee-deep in the business world, running Heads Up Inc. and thinking I had it all figured out. We were selling toilets, for crying out loud, and doing it successfully! But you know what? God had a different plan.

It wasn’t until we faced the economic crash that I really started to listen. Suddenly, all those things I thought were important – the success, the money, the status – they all came crashing down. And in that moment of crisis, I heard God’s whisper louder than ever before.

The transition wasn’t easy. Letting go of my identity as a successful businessman and embracing a new calling in ministry was humbling, to say the least. But as I look back now, I see how God was preparing me all along. Those business skills? They came in handy when we were setting up Standing Stone Ministry. The lessons I learned from failure? They made me a better mentor to struggling pastors.

Here’s what I want you to take away from my story: God doesn’t waste anything. Your past experiences, even the ones that seem irrelevant or painful, are all part of His plan. So if you’re feeling that tug towards ministry, don’t discount your ‘secular’ experience. It might just be the very thing God uses to make your ministry unique and impactful.

Remember, it’s not about what you do, but who you’re becoming. For me, the journey from boardroom to ministry wasn’t just about changing careers. It was about becoming the ambassador for Christ that He created me to be.

So, my friends, are you ready to let God transform your journey? Trust me, it’s a wild ride, but it’s worth every moment.
