Dear Friends,
Tomorrow, Debbie is scheduled to leave Mission Hospital and move to The Orchards Health Center in Rancho Mission Viejo for the next stage of her recovery.
After looking at several rehabilitation facilities, I cannot tell you how encouraged I am by The Orchards. It is head and shoulders above the other places we considered. The facility is beautiful and comfortable, almost more like a hotel than what you might picture when you hear the words “skilled nursing facility.”
More importantly, The Orchards has the professional care and rehabilitation Debbie needs. Their team provides skilled nursing along with physical and occupational therapy designed to help patients regain mobility and independence.
For Debbie, this is a very important next step. She still cannot put weight on either leg, so there is a lot of work ahead. But after all the uncertainty of the last several days, it feels wonderful to finally know where she is going and to feel so good about the place that will be caring for her.
Tomorrow is moving day.
Thank you for continuing to pray for Debbie, especially for a smooth transition to The Orchards, good pain management, and strength and encouragement as the real work of rehabilitation begins.
