Yesterday brought some encouraging moments in Debbie’s recovery.
I have been staying with Jack and Susan at their home so I can be closer to Debbie. Yesterday was especially nice because both of our sons and our daughters-in-law were able to spend time with her. After everything Debbie has been through, having family around her was a wonderful lift.
One of the sweetest moments of the day came when Debbie was able to see Lizzie our dog for the first time in several weeks. The staff was amazing and helped make the visit possible.
The moment Lizzie saw Debbie, she could hardly contain herself. She was so excited to see her, and Debbie was just as happy to see Lizzie. After weeks of hospitals, surgery, and recovery, it was a little piece of home coming through the door.
We still have a long road ahead, but yesterday was a good day. There was family, laughter, love, and some encouraging signs that Debbie continues to move forward.
